Since 1968, Eckels-Bilt Inc. has been manufacturing automatic conveyor belt trackers, conveyor systems, and specialty equipment in Fort Worth, Texas. Our experience began in the confection industry and has expanded to industries that utilize conveyor belts from wire mesh conveyor belting in oven band baking applications to thick rubber conveyor belts in the mining industry. Years of experience and customer care has made Eckels-Bilt the experts in conveyor belt tracking and leaders in low maintenance conveyor equipment.
The inventor of the Eckels-Bilt True Tracker and founder of Eckels-Bilt, Stanley Eckels, started as the maintenance chief for a Fort Worth candy plant. He saw the need to automatically track the conveyor belts to eliminate the need to have a mechanic constantly adjusting the belt. The idea was to steer the conveyor belt using an electromechanical system. He began by building a small tracking system in his garage. His conveyor belt tracker was so successful that he and his wife decided to pool together some investors, start the company, and get a patent. Stanley continued to develop Eckels-Bilt by improving on the initial design of the automatic conveyor belt tracker to handle larger conveyor belts and loads by using a pneumatically driven system.
